If repeat magazine curated a festival of music and visual arts, it would probably look pretty much like this: take all our favourite musicians who continuously challenge the intersections of contemporary psychedelia, shoegaze, noise and garage rock, let them perform open air in the dreamlike landscape of a desert by a lake in the Southern Californian summer this October. Desert Daze is doing this for the magical 7th time!
From October 12 – 14 the psychedelic music festival will take place at a beach overlooking rolling hills and a mountain panorama on the horizon. Moreno Beach at the beautiful Lake Perris in Southern California will be transformed into the stage for the seventh edition of this magical fest and the line-up phase III reads like a music lovers’ dream:
Headlined by dreamy shoegazers My Bloody Valentine, the festival includes noise rock classics Shellac and Earth as well as contemporary experimentalists of dark and dreamy sounds Warpaint and Chelsea Wolfe, contemporary and cult heroes of rock like Ty Segall, Ian Svenonius and Jarvis Cocker, great experts of trippy mesmerizing sounds like Beak and Föllakzoid, repeat magazine’s favourites Ulrika Spacek, Hand Habits, Cut Worms, Kevin Morby and Kikagaku Moyo and the three-headed Australian neo-psych monster Tame Impala/ Pond /Gum and so many more great artists, we will just highlight all of them.
Desert Daze promises to be a one of a kind festival, not only musically, but also spiritually as a mind-altering experience. The magical playground awakes all the senses with its great spot in nature, arts installation, the music talks and the recreational opportunities like swimming in the lake, boat rides and beach lounging at the Moreno Beach.
Great thing about Desert Daze is that one ticket allows you to access all the shows for the whole weekend if you want to so you can wander around and get lost in new sounds. You can book packages with extra options like exclusive tents, you can bring your own RV or cars, and there are special VIP packages with magical extras… check out all the options and get your tickets here!

Repeat magazine visited the Desert Daze Caravan travelling cross-country at Levitation Festival in Austin this April for the DIIV and Ariel Pink and SUUNS shows and were left impressed. We expect to get hypnotized only by the music again as Jimi Hendrix used to say – the “safe way to get high.”
The map will give you an idea of the beautiful location:
Until we will create our own “best of Desert Daze” playlist we think Al Lover did a pretty good job with his curated playlist for the festival – tune in here:
